In The Beginning There Was The Wort
Day Two. The Creation continues with full steam and the Lord creates the firmament sprangled with stars.
This medium strong, nightsky-coloured Trappist Dubbel is possibly the best-known style of all Abbey Beers.
Now, this one is special.
The yeast comes from the World-renown Westmalle Brewery, but the recipe that we used as a starting point has been created by monks of the Westvleteren Abbey, where beers are today only sold at the monastery door. You would not be able to find this beer in any commercial environment.
Many have tried, most have failed to interpret it to the perfection of the original.
Did we succeed? You decide…
